Name of establishment

Style and ambience

Small but perfectly formed artisan shop in the old town of Loulé, specialising in Algarve-produced foodstuffs and associated gift items.

What to buy?

Medronho and other liqueurs, flor de sal, olive oil, conserves and patés, tinned fish, jams and honey, craft beer, dried fruits, etc.

Why do you like it?

A real treasure trove, and an antidote to the preponderance of mass-produced, imported products you see far too often elsewhere. If you’re looking for attractively-packaged high-quality local produce for yourself or as a gift, look no further.

The medronho is the best we have found anywhere in the Algarve.

When to go?

Anytime of the year, although it’s particularly good if you want seasonal gifts and gift packs at Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s etc.

Insider knowledge

Owner Ricardo Durao is also seen from time to time in Loulé market and at fairs and festivals around the region promoting the shop.

You can put together your own gift selections, and some of the products make especially good corporate/client gifts.

6 Rua Vice-Almirante Candido dos Reis, Loulé.
