Why do you love it?
The Jack Nicklaus Signature is significant because the course design has been specifically overseen by arguably the greatest golfer of all time, which means you are in for a memorable golfing experience.

You'll sense the enormous satisfaction it brings as you experience the ebb and flow of each hole, played as though there were no other on the course. The design brings a new challenge to every shot, and to be rewarded you will have to play both good golf and clever golf as dog-legs, bunkers and water hazards protect and defend at every corner. Positional play and strategy will play a huge part in your round and make every shot a new challenge. The course is quite simply the best golf experience in Portugal, and in time I'm sure it will be ranked among the best in the game.

At the end of your round you will receive a bag tag of the club's logo with your name inscribed on the back, a lovely memento to take home.

What could be improved?
The golf course is wonderful in every way. Once the real estate development has been completed, together with the road link from the A22, the property will be perfect!

Best hole
A very difficult choice as there isn't a bad hole on the course. The most challenging is probably the 15th, as there are water borders all the way down the right side of the hole, the challenge being to keep your drive as close to the water as you dare in order to make your second shot to the green a little easier. An interesting hole for the longer hitter is the 12th, as you are tempted to go for the 'tiger' line over the water and a good chance of making a birdie. The prettiest hole is the 18th - a wonderfully tempting drive before a dog-leg around water and the beautiful clubhouse in the distance.

Level of challenge
This will depend on your choice of tees at the start of play, as well as the weather conditions - often a breeze comes in from the north. What is certain is that you will need to be on your 'A' game to have any chance of mastering this course.

When to go
The course is open all year. The busiest times are generally March to October. The quietest period is November to February, and off-season prices will reflect this.

Food options?
The restaurants and bars, which include Vistas for gourmet dining and the informal Monte Rei Grill, are sure to satisfy every need.

Non-golfing facilities
The current course is the North Course. The South Course is at an advanced stage of design. When it opens, Monte Rei will be the only property in the world with two Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses. The completion of the project will include luxury real estate, a five-star hotel, family resort facilities and a private beach retreat.

Membership packages fall into two main categories, a 25 year resident /non-resident title or Associate. Details on request.
