Golfing facilities

The magnificent clubhouse has a spacious bar, restaurant and luxury changing rooms. The Pro-Shop has an extensive range of products and there is a Greenside bar & café.

The Golf Academy includes a 9 hole, par 3 floodlit course with access to practice putting greens, a driving range and long & short game practice areas.

There is also the Amendoeira Golf Academy & Fitting Suite which offers a wide variety of instructional programmes to meet the needs of all golfers.

Why do you like it?

The overall condition of the course is very good. The greens are consistent and roll true.

Best hole

All the holes play well, and each offer a unique challenge. The 17th was the one I found the most rewarding - a tough drive in to a fairway protected by bunkers with a challenging approach shot in to a small green.

Level of challenge

Moderate to difficult - this is a challenging/thinking golfer’s course. It will reward those with good shot-making decisions and will punish those less fortunate. From the tee box, distances are deceptive and the greens play quick. Overall, a great golfing experience that will keep even the low handicapper challenged and wanting for more.

Note: a buggy is required to play the course. The distance between holes at times is very undulating and far apart. It doesn’t distract from the round, but for those less fit, it will take its toll on the back nine!

When to go

Being part of the Oceanico golf/property group, the course will be busy during peak seasons and attract a reasonable amount of players off-season, so it’s always best to plan ahead and book early. Prices are relative to the period.

Non-golfing facilities

Surrounding the course is the Oceanico Amendoeira Resort and the Amendoeira Sports Club which offers a host of professional sporting facilities, including football pitches, 6 tennis courts, 2 bowling greens, beach volleyball area, gymnasium, sports bar and shop.

Inside knowledge

Get there early before your tee time so you can take in the experience fully. Check-in, have a relaxed drink at the bar, hit some balls at the range and then go out and shoot a personal best! Then while your clubs are being cleaned by the friendly staff, retire to the 19th for a drink. Oceanico Faldo offers a complete golfing experience.
