What type of walks are available?
You can enjoy a walk in an area of your choice, accompanied by a personal walking guide who has extensive local knowledge of flora, fauna and cultural traditions.
The walks last from around an hour-and-a-half to four hours, and there are walks for everyone, depending on age, fitness, experience and interest levels. Choose from cliff walks along the coastline, mountain walks in the hinterland, or nature trails in the national parks.
The group programmes are aimed at those who enjoy varied walking days. Primarily directed at tour operators and travel agencies, they can also be booked directly by families, friends, or special interest groups such as walkers, birdwatchers, photographers, etc.

Discover the rugged beauty of the western Algarve around Sagres, the breathtaking clifftops near Carvoeiro, and the salt marshes, freshwater lagoons and teeming wildlife of the Ria Formosa.
What do you need to bring?
Good walking shoes, sensible walking clothes, water, snacks (or a packed lunch for longer walks), a camera and a sense of humour. A hat and sun block are advisable in summer, and waterproofs in winter.
Why do you love it?
A chance to actively experience the countryside of the Algarve with all your senses, and get some insight into both the ecosystem and the traditional life of the region.
When to go?
Walks can be organised all year-round. In the heat of mid-summer however, you'll be advised to start either early or late, to avoid the potential scorching temperatures of mid-afternoon.
For longer walks, bring snacks or a packed lunch/picnic with you. Some walks will pass close to cafes or small shops.
Ricarda has been organising walks in the Algarve for over five years, and knows the region exceptionally well. She speaks German, English and Portuguese. She is also a trained marine zoologist, as well as having an encyclopaedic knowledge of plants, flowers and wildlife.
All the walks will start and finish from a pre-agreed point. This may be your hotel or an easy-to-find and convenient location.
