Name of spa
Belmar Spa & Beach Resort, Lagos
Entrance to the spa is through the resort’s main reception area. You’re greeted with a warm welcome and directed to the spa below. Once downstairs, the spa reception area, although small, opens up into a large, modern and bright space that draws its style and influence from Bali.
A perfect oasis for couples, groups of friends or just yourself. The emphasis is on peace and tranquillity.
You are given a fluffy white bathrobe and (good fitting) slippers before you enter, and if it is your first visit, a tour. Areas are well signposted in English and Portuguese, and if you are arriving for a treatment, you are met in the guest waiting room to fill out a consultation form and then brought along to the treatment areas.
The spa uses the Comfort Zone product line, and to really do them justice the treatments are best described as rituals lasting anywhere from 30 minutes up to 3hrs.
There are seven treatment rooms that include three single treatment rooms, a couples suite, an alternative massage and mother-to-be suite with pedicure chair, the Cascata Suite for the signature Vichy rituals, and the candle-lit Serena Suite for relaxation after your treatments with a blanket and herbal tea.
Sauna, Turkish bath, indoor heated pool, two Experience Showers, hydrotherapy pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor pool, massage pagoda and chromo-therapy suite.
Why do you like it?
It’s simple - park the car, check in at reception and then just relax and enjoy the experience, whether it lasts 30 minutes or all day.
When to go
Anytime is perfect for the pampering treatments. Fun with a group of girlfriends or for something different for couples - and for those guests using the Harmonia Suite for two, a special treat of champagne and chocolates is provided.
When you arrive at the main reception, let staff know if you wish to use the Turkish bath, as this will need to be switched on in advance if not already in use.
A large spa that makes use of the outdoor space and fantastic views of the beach.
Porto de Mós, Lagos 8600-513.
Exit 1 at Lagos. Go through the first roundabout. Left at the second roundabout, right at the third, and straight through the next two. Right at the final roundabout to Porto de Mós beach, and Belmar Resort is on the right hand side. Plenty of parking outside of the main reception.
