Name of establishment
Studio Corine Thinon, Lagos
Small and understated, this is a working studio for French artist Corine Thinon as well as being a shop for those wanting to buy a piece of her distinctive art.
The bright and vibrant paintings both in the window and displayed on the street outside will draw you towards this little shop in historic Lagos.
What to buy
Corine understands that art needs to be accessible, and has priced her originals competitively, as well as offering a range of signed prints. There’s a good choice of small pieces and some larger paintings in both modern and classical styles, each with an impressionistic influence.
Why do you like it
Corine is a very versatile painter, and her works show this. Nothing is too much trouble here, and when you have picked your painting, shipping and framing can also be arranged to suit each buyer.
When to go
The shop is open every day except Sunday (see opening times below). If you want to speak with Corine then call before you go to check that she will be there.
Corine has many paintings in her atelier but she also accepts commissions, and has completed several of houses for private clients. If you want Corine to paint something specifically for you then she is happy to discuss style ideas and to work from photographs.
Other examples of work by Corine can also be seen at Tacuba restaurant in Ferragudo.
