Ambience

The pure white of this luxury gated five-star resort is set amidst a picturesque coastline. Attire is relaxed during the day and smart casual for evening dining. It’s also open to the public for lunch and dinner, but use of the pool is restricted to guests of the resort.

Rooms

The accommodation consists of a series of privately-owned residences that are grouped into 23 duplex apartment clusters, along with eight luxury detached villas. The apartments are spacious, fully-fitted with all mod cons and extremely comfortable. Request a ground floor apartment as they have an open-plan patio area and your own mini grass lawn as well as a whirlpool.

Food

The resort has a restaurant – Albatroz - which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner (see the separate review HERE). Full room service is also available to your apartment.

Drink

Didi’s Bar & Lounge for cocktails, spirits, draught and bottled beers, freshly squeezed juices, teas, coffees and bar snacks, plus a pool bar for drinks, snacks and light refreshments.

Why do you like it?

A family-friendly resort that is equally as accommodating for couples, offering all the usual facilities you would expect to find in a hotel. The views and location are breathtaking and provided your kitchen is fully stocked with food and drinks, you’d never have to leave this easy-to-get-around resort if you didn’t want to.

Accommodation facilities include a terrace or outdoor patio, BBQ, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom (2 and 3 bedroom apartments have a separate bathroom as well as an en-suite), air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, supervised beach area, spa and health club, three outdoor pools, an indoor pool, a kids pool, and a chill-out area.

Insider knowledge

Families staying at the resort who have youngsters can avail of the Golden Kids Club located on level 1 of the club house for ages 3 – 9 years. One hour, half-day or full-day programmes are available, the latter two including lunch, and there is a 10% discount for two or more siblings. Prices are €8 for an hour, €25 for half-day and €45 for full-day.

Birthday parties for a minimum of 10 children can also be arranged, lasting 2-3 hours at a cost of €17.60 per child not including extras.

Size

Of the 140 privately-owned properties that are on the resort, 91 are available for rental at any one time in the year. Properties include 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, while the villas have four bedrooms. The bathrooms are all disability-aided, and there is ramp access to the patio area from the master bedroom and the living room.

Location

Between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago, overlooking the beach and Dunas Douradas lake.

Parking is available underneath and beside the club house and outside the individual apartments.
